R.E.M.M.
We buy, develop and manage real estate in Germany. R.E.M.M. has been growing continuously since 1991 and today we own and manage 23 buildings in Berlin and Leipzig, comprising 632 apartments, 33 retail units and more than 27.000 m² lettable office space. The portfolio, asset and property management of our buildings is done in-house with a long-time established team of 16 employees, some of which have been with the company 25+ years.
R.E.M.M. Germany is a real estate company owned by the Gernhardt / Bartels family. R.E.M.M. follows a long-term hold strategy. The real estate portfolio is continuously expanded through real estate developments and acquisitions.
Since its foundation in 1991 the company has been led by entrepreneur Hargen M. Bartels. In 2020, his son Helge M. Gernhardt joined R.E.M.M. Germany. In September 2023 Helge became Co-CEO of R.E.M.M. Germany.

2022
After 31 years of growth, R.E.M.M Germany owns 23 buildings with 68.000+ m² lettable square meters of office, retail and apartment space. We look forward to a future in which we continue to provide society with high-quality spaces to live and work in.
2020
Helge M. Gernhardt, son of Hargen M. Bartels, joins R.E.M.M..
R.E.M.M. launches the Hofer Wohnen construction project in Leipzig, building 118 affordable rental apartments for families.
2005
Backfabrik hosts a group of resident artists, giving them space to work and a platform to promote their work. This initiative has continued and is now reflected in Backfabrik hosting the NKC.
2003
R.E.M.M. begins construction of penthouse apartments on top of existing multiresidential buildings. By 2020 more than 40 penthouse apartments have been built.
2002
R.E.M.M. starts leasing of the Backfabrik with focus on digital companies as tenants after the reconstruction is completed.
2000
R.E.M.M. acquires the 27.000 m² - former bakery „Ba-Pro“, located 600 Meters north of Berlin-Alexanderplatz, and modernizes the factory to create a state-of-the-art office loft location, renamed Backfabrik.
1999
By then, R.E.M.M. has built a team of real estate professionals working in management, refurbishment and construction.
1990s
R.E.M.M. purchases multiresidential buildings in Berlin and invests in their long-term technical refurbishment.
1991
Hargen M. Bartels incorporates „R.E.M.M. Grundstücksgesellschaft mbH“, the nucleus company of R.E.M.M..
